KYLIE - SWEET DARLING

Pepsi-cola VS Coca-Cola

HISTORY
The first Coca-Cola recipe was invented in Columbus, Georgia, by John Stith Pemberton, originally as a cocawine called Pemberton's French Wine Coca in 1885 and introduced in 1886.

Pepsi-cola was first made in New Bern, North Carolina, in the United States in the early 1890s by pharmacist Caleb Bradham.

Coca-Cola and Pepsi are both originated in the USA.
They are each other's biggest competitor. Pepsi was the first company to go international, and Coca-Cola chose to stay in the USA until after Pepsi made it big in the USSR.

COLA
Cola was medicine once upon a time. Still is, actually. You can buy cola syrup, it's used for nausea and stomach ache. Works fairly well, if you can keep it down.

COCA-COLA
Coca-Cola is often referred to simply as Coke or (in European and American countries) as Cola or Pop.
The famous Coca-Cola
logo was created by John Pemberton's bookkeeper, Frank Mason Robinson, in 1885. It was Robinson who came up with the name, and he also chose the logo’s distinctive cursive script. The typeface used, known as Spencerian script, was developed in the mid 19th century and was the dominant form of formal handwriting in the United States during that period.
Robinson also played a significant role in early Coca-Cola
advertising. His promotional suggestions to Pemberton included giving away thousands of free drink coupons and plastering the city of Atlanta with publicity banners and streetcar signs.

PEPSI
In 1898, "Brad's drink" was changed to "Pepsi-Cola" and later trademarked on June 16, 1903.

There are several theories on the origin of the word "pepsi".The only two discussed within the current PepsiCo website are the following:
1. Caleb Bradham bought the name "Pep Kola" from a local competitor and changed it to Pepsi-Cola.
2. "Pepsi-Cola" is an anagram for "Episcopal" - a large church across the street from Bradham's drugstore.

The word Pepsi comes from the Greek word "pepsi" (πέψη), which is a medical term, describing the food dissolving process within one's stomach. It is also a medical term, that describes a problem with one's stomach to dissolve foods properly.

Another theory is that Caleb Bradham and his customers simply thought the name sounded good or the fact that the drink had some kind of "pep" in it because it was a carbonated drink, they gave it the name "Pepsi".

It was made of carbonated water, sugar, vanilla, rare oils, and kola nuts. Whether the original recipe included the enzyme pepsin is disputed.

BAD
In 1929, the Pepsi-Cola Company went bankrupt during the Great Depression- in large part due financial losses incurred by speculating on wildly fluctuating sugar prices as a result of World War I. Assets were sold and Roy C. Megargel bought the Pepsi trademark.

Eight years later, the company went bankrupt again. Pepsi's assets were then purchased by Charles Guth, the President of Loft Inc. Loft was a candy manufacturer with retail stores that contained soda fountains. He sought to replace Coca-Cola at his stores' fountains after Coke refused to give him a discount on syrup. Guth then had Loft's chemists reformulate the Pepsi-Cola syrup formula.

NOW
If people're asked to choose which they prefer; after trying two nearly identical flavours one after the other, people will almost always prefer the slightly sweeter one. You can verify this with other acidic drinks. Squeeze two glasses of fresh orange juice, add a quarter teaspoon of sugar (no more or it will be too sweet!) to one of them, mix well, "Pepsi Challenge," and people will pick the sugared beverage almost four times out of five.

Pepsi & Coca-Cola both give money to charity.

According to the Independent, researchers have proven that the difference between Coke and Pepsi really is all in your head. Apparently the popularity of Coke's brand image causes people to think Coca-Cola itself tastes better, even though it really doesn't taste very different from Pepsi. As the article says: "When asked to taste blind, they showed no preference. However, when the participants were shown company logos before they drank, the Coke label, the more famous of the two, had a dramatic impact: three-quarters of the tasters declared they preferred Coke!"

A guy said: "From what I know they taste exactly the same. Its just that before drinking it you are told what it is! And you decide the difference on the basis of the brands."

DIFFERENCE
Coke isn't as sweet as Pepsi. Anyone that tells you otherwise must not have drink them both often. Pepsi has way less sugar, the sugar in coke mattes your teeth and gives you this weird feeling. Pepsi is sweeter & smoother.

A guy who prefered Pepsi said: "Coke goes flat faster than Pepsi. Pepsi has more carbonation."

A girl who prefered Coca-Cola said: "Coca-cola has been around longer than Pepsi. Coca-Cola has more of a caramelly crisp taste. Coca-Cola came up with the Santa Claus that we all know and love. Coca-Cola is cooler because it just is."

MY OPINION
I don't really care about it. The difference isn't really big. I love to drink Coca-Cola Zero!
If I've to choose between Pepsi-cola and Coca-cola, I'll choose Pepsi-cola, because it's sweeter. (:

Trend colours 2009

One of the trend-colours 2009 is......

METALLIC!

Like gold, silver, blingelicious! :)
In this Spring 2009, designers embraced metallic and mixed them with bright colors. Celine, Stella McCartney, Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent en Dior, Prada and Marc Jacobs all used metallic as a main point of interest in their Spring collections.
You can combine these neutral colours with fierce coloured accessoires or panty's.

Here are some pictures I've found:

Metallic/Silver/Gold

Too extreme... :p

Holy crap, they call this one a "dress" o__o

Ahhh my eyes xP

This one is funny x'D

I like the bottom of this skirt <3_<3>

Sweet don't you think?

I love this picture! I love this dress..! Don't know why c:

NICE!

Blingelicious!

Hehehe, funny jacket :')

So colourful =)

Black

Like this dress.

BlingBling

This is cute =]

I like this saison-colour, dresses with these are the most cool. Not all of them, that naked one was too extreme O__O
This colour is really a trend. I've got metallic/grey stretch pants, it's old and I've worn them really much: not a single compliment. For a period I didn't wear it. And last time a wore it again: TONS OF COMMENTS! People saying the colour is nice, and such. So it's really a trend-colour haha.

Anyways, hope you liked it! c:

Jeans trend 2009

Here it is, the jeans trend of 2009:

BOOTLEG JEANS
Bootleg jeans are basics and you can wear them very long. These jeans make your legs look longer, because they bring your hips in balance.
1.
Jeans, Hilfiger Denim, €149,95 2. Jeans, Otto, €49,90 3. Jeans, Hilfiger Denim €129,95

SKINNY JEANS
Skinny jeans are old now, but stil HOT!
6.
Jeans, Gestuz, €109,95 4. Jeans, Cheap Monday, €49,95 5. Jeans, Circle of Trust, €69,95

FLARE JEANS
Flare jeans look the best if you have long legs. These make your hips look smaller. To create "the perfect figure" you should wear high heels with it :) [not the terrible ones in my other blog of course! :p ]
7.
Jeans, Take Two, €149,95 8. Jeans, MAVI, €79,95 9. Jeans, AJC, €39,99

BOYFRIEND JEANS
The hippest jeans of this moment is 'the boyfriend jeans for girls'!
It's perfect for feminine curves: full hips, legs and slender taille. You can wear these jeans casual with boots, sneakers, ballerina's or high heels. Boyfriend Jeans are cut a bit looser than most jeans so they'll skim your curves rather than clinging to them. A Boyfriend Jeans style with a baggy, straight leg, will suit pretty much everyone - worn low these can be very sexy!
11.
Jeans, Levi, €99,95 10. Jeans, Joe Browns, €69,99 12. Jeans, Mustang €79,95

Even though every magazine and newspaper is pushing skinny jeans as the must have of the moment the simple fact of the matter is that not everyone looks good in a pair of skintight jeans. Another style that is far more forgiving is the boyfriend cut which is tight around the rear but relaxed in the legs. The best ones around at the moment are Yanuk Worker Boyfriend (see above), Hudson Boyfriend and Miss Sixty Perkins.

Ripped jeans: These are also cool!

But today, I saw a hole in my jeans and I said: 'Hmm.. I think it's supposed to be like that.' (ripped jeans)
Then a schoolmate (girl) said: 'No, it's like that because your legs are just thick/fat!' (in a bitchy way)
That's so mean! I was deeply hurt TT^TT
